Grants - Australian Sports Foundation

What are you
looking for?

We fund programs designed to increase healthy activity levels and grow participation in sport. Grants are distributed to support projects that improve access to sport for a range of people and communities.

Our focus is on helping kids get active, breaking down the barriers of entry for women and girls, and on bringing more diversity to sport. We work towards an Australia where sport is accessible for all.

Our Foundation’s Causes

Every person deserves to play sport regardless of their age, ability, gender or background. We believe in a future where every Australian has access to sport. To help achieve this we have a focus on four key areas to get more people into sport.

Active Kids

Kids who take part in sport are healthier and less likely to be obese. They learn valuable life skills and are more likely to become active adults.

Women in sport

Women and girls face unique barriers to playing sport, they deserve equal opportunities to participate.

Diversity and inclusion

Everyone has a right to enjoy sport regardless of cultural, social, sexual orientation, age, economic background or ability.

Sport for all

We help fund community-based organisations, schools and clubs to boost participation in grassroots and community sport.

To see the young children playing football with new boots, access to coaches and a safe environment is wonderful and very rewarding for all involved with Saints.

Who we have helped

With the help of generous donors and corporate partners, we’ve been able to give grants to hundreds of sports clubs, schools and community groups. They have used the money to fund programs that helped get thousands more Australians active through sport.

In the past few years, local sporting communities have received more than $3m to help fund equipment and facility upgrades.

Monique Lawrence - Ice Skating

Monique raised nearly $3,000 to cover flights, accommodation and entry to the Singapore’s National Figure Skating Championships where she won first place.

Wambui Taylor - Tennis

A family tragedy was the catalyst for young Wambui Taylor's start to playing tennis, who hasn't looked back since.
